Roger Moore, Who Played James Bond 007 Times, Dies

Roger Moore, the dapper British actor who brought tongue-in-cheek humor to the James Bond persona in seven films, eclipsing his television career, which had included starring roles in at least five series, died on Tuesday in Switzerland. He was 89. The death, attributed to cancer, was confirmed in a family statement on Twitter. It did not say where in Switzerland he died. Mr. Moore was the oldest Bond ever hired for films in the canon, taking on the role when he was 46. (Sean Connery, who originated the film character and with whom Mr. Moore was constantly compared, was 33, although in the spoof “Casino Royale,” David Niven was in his 50s.) Mr. Moore also had the longest run in the role, beginning in 1973 with “Live and Let Die” and winding up in 1985 with “A View to a Kill.” When he became 007, the author Ian Fleming’s sexy secret agent with a license to kill, Mr. Moore was already well known to American audiences. After playing the title role in a British medieval-adven

Demi Lovato Praises Miley Cyrus For Being Sober: “I Am Really Proud”

Demi Lovato will be the first to tell you getting sober is tricky. The 24 year-old pop princess just celebrated five years of sobriety after struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Now, sister pop star and long time frenemy Miley Cyrus has given up booze and weed, and Lovato is singing her praises, saying, “I am really proud of Miley.” Ethan Miller/Getty Images Cyrus recently told Billboard Magazine on her sobriety, This is crazy, but I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever gone without it. I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clean and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be. The change in Cyrus is obvious, as her music has taken a turn from the wild to the sincere. Her latest hit, “Malibu,” is jumping up the charts, and has other celeb fans like Katy Perry praising Miley for her new sound.

Love Comes First for Blake Shelton

Did you hear the collective sighs of all the women tuned in to the  Billboard  Music Awards on Sunday night (May 21)? When Blake Shelton took the stage to accept his top country artist award, he gave his girlfriend Gwen Stefani the sweetest, most romantic compliment ever. “Wow! That was pretty cool. I had a good feeling. I felt like I was the luckiest guy in the room anyway because Gwen is here with me, so I had a good feeling about it,” Shelton said. It was as if he was trying to get nominated for some kind of a Most Loving Boyfriend award. Which he’d win, hands down. Shelton went on to thank the people who put him there: the fans. “I know this award is based on facts and industry things, sales and streaming and radio airplay and all that stuff,” he said. “But I think, if it weren’t for the fans, we wouldn’t have the sales and ticket sales and the airplay. Thank you fans, first and foremost.” He beat out Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, and Jason Al

Bowing to hypocrisy: Donald and Melania Trump contradict the president’s old tweets on first day of foreign trip

More of a critic than a sage foreign diplomatic, President Donald Trump was always quick to attack former President  Barack Obama  when he was over seas meeting with world leaders. Over the years, Trump has blasted his predecessor for bowing to the  Saudi king  in public and railed against his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, for not donning a head scarf in Saudi Arabia. On Saturday, Trump’s first day of a nine-day tour abroad, both the president and the first lady fell for the very same traps critics laid for the Obamas years ago. Before deplaning Air Force One in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday Trump apparently informed his team team that there would be a harsh punishment for anyone caught bowing in the Muslim-majority kingdom.  Follow Steve Cortes   ✔ @CortesSteve Last words from  @ POTUS  before deplaning Air Force One: "I catch one American bowing here and you're on the next Saudia flight home"... 7:12 PM - 20 May 2017
