Delta Air Lines customers endured hundreds more canceled and delayed flights Tuesday as the carrier slogged through day two of its recovery from a global computer outage. By late morning, nearly 400 Delta flights had been scrubbed and more than 700 delayed, according to tracking service FlightStats Inc. The disruptions followed about 1,000 cancellations and 2,800 delayed flights Monday after a power outage at Delta's Atlanta headquarters tripped a meltdown of its booking, communications and other systems. The airline was back online after a few hours Monday, but the outages were so widespread that it was still dealing with the ripple effects a day later. Delta also extended a travel-waiver policy to help stranded passengers rearrange their travel plans.More than 1,000 people spent the night at Narita Airport outside Tokyo because of the shutdown. Delta Air Lines tweeted that its systems were "down everywhere."   WXIA Tens of thousands of people were stranded Monday after  Delta Air Lines  flights were grounded around the globe due to a system outage. Delta said that systems were back online by 8:40 a.m. ET, but warned disruptions would continue amid a "limited" resumption of departures. "Customers heading to the airport should expect delays and cancellations," Delta warned in a statement. "While inquiries are high and wait times are long, our customer service agents are doing everything they can to assist." The airline also advised fliers there may be "some lag time in the display of accurate flight status at delta.com, the Fly Delta App and from Delta representatives on the phone and in airport."
