Remembering Pat Summitt





Vivek Ranadive, Nancy Lieberman, Shaquille O’Neal, Kara Lawson and more remember one of the most influential women in college basketball.

Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in college basketball history, passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 64.
As the head coach of the Lady Vols at the University of Tennessee, Summitt won eight national championships in 38 seasons and never had a losing campaign. She finished her coaching career with a total of 1,098 wins in 1,306 games coached.
"There is a hole in the universe today," Kings assistant coach Nancy Lieberman told Kings.com. "Becky [Hammon] and I are not coaching in the NBA without Pat."
Former Monarchs and Tennessee guard Kara Lawson spoke to ESPN following the news and shared her personal experience playing under the legendary coach.
“Personally, she was a life changer for me,” said Lawson. “I played for her for four years, but she coached me a lot longer than that.”
