Key Stats from the Arizona Cardinals Monday night win

The Arizona Cardinals are now back in striking distance. They are now 3-3 on the season, sitting behind the Rams at 3-3 and the Seahawks at 4-1.

Offensively, the Cardinals posted their fourth no turnover game this season. Their other two games were five turnover games. The Cardinals had two picks however, one by Tyrann Mathieu of Geno Smith, and the other by DJ Swearinger with the Jets in the redzone.

The Jets came into the game with the best rush defense in the NFL. They allowed only 68.4 rush yards per game. By the end of Monday night, David Johnson and the Cardinals offense had run for 171 yards and three touchdowns.

Carson Palmer looked good in his return. He completed 23/34, 213, and a touchdown. He had one near pick on a miscommunication with John Brown, but outside of that he was smart with the ball.

As a team, the Cardinals outgained the Jets 396 yards to 230. Time of Possession was in the Cardinals favor, 36 to 24. The Cardinals mustered 28 first downs to the Jets 11 as well. The Cardinals held the Jets to two of 13 on third downs, and one of two on fourth downs.

The Cardinals fumbled three times, twice by Carson Palmer on bad snaps, and the other was a Larry Fitzgerald fumble. I don't recall it, but I am assuming it was his out of bounds play which the Jets believed to be incomplete.

Ryan Quigley logged four punts for an average of 40 yards. Two were downed inside the 20, with another that was just short of the 20 yard line.

John Brown woke up in the fourth quarter thanks to Palmer finding him three plays in a row. Brown finished the game with five catches for 54 yards.

Michael Floyd had a touchdown in the game. And had moments in which he looked good.

The Cardinals scored their first touchdown in the first quarter as well. David Johnson broke off a 58 yard run against a run blitz that was the opening score.

The Cardinals were called for nine penalties in the game. That cost them 64 yards. The Jets were called for 10 which cost them 83 yards. It was not a very clean game throughout, but officiating blunders were among a few of the calls.

The Cardinals now have a short week to take on the division rival Seatle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football.
